Tell us a little bit about what you do...
Well, what is it that I don’t do? 😉 I’m the Channel Manager for Barco for the UK & IE. My responsibility is to ensure I support my territory for all things related Barco Clickshare, from Distribution partners, integration partners (such as you Stacked) and end customers.
What do you love about your job?
Well, it’s been 7 years at Barco now…..where has that time gone, as they say time flies when you’re enjoying yourself! There’s not much I don’t like about my job, I get to see and be involved in the latest technology gadgets surrounding the UC&C world, experience the technology hands on, work closely together with Alliance partners, distributors and of course manage “Cool” customers like stacked!
What’s the hottest thing in your solution or product portfolio today?
The hottest thing is that ClickShare is evolving from a simple wireless sharing & conferencing tool into an AI-powered, Native Microsoft Teams Room (MTR)
What trends are shaping innovation in your company today?
Barco ClickShares innovation is being shaped by a combination of:
- AI-driven collaboration
- Hybrid work and meeting equity
- Modular and flexible approach to meetings
- Platform interoperability
- IT integration and manageability
- Security and sustainability
In summary, ClickShare is evolving from a wireless presentation tool into a fully integrated, AI-enhanced collaboration platform for hybrid work, tightly aligned with enterprise IT and workplace transformation trends.
What do you think makes a great team?
For me, it starts with people, their personalities and their energy! I strongly believe that when you have a team with the right energy who are driven, motivated, and bring positive attitudes, that’s where success naturally follows.
Great teams also need clear goals and milestones to stay aligned and focused. When you combine the right people with shared direction and accountability, that’s when teams really thrive.
If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
I’d probably swap with someone whose job is to bring peace to the world… mainly so I could confidently walk in thinking, “right, I’ll sort this out by lunchtime.”
By about 11am, I’d realise it’s a bit more complicated than that and probably spend the rest of the day wishing I’d aimed for something easier, like running a company instead.
But on a serious note, I think it would be fascinating to see how they balance different opinions, build trust, and find common ground when the stakes are that high.
And I’d definitely come back with a new appreciation that getting alignment in a team meeting isn’t quite as challenging as global diplomacy!
AI, friend or foe?
For me, AI is definitely a friend although probably the kind that works a bit too hard and makes the rest of us look bad sometimes.
Jokes aside, I see it as a really powerful enabler. In my role, it can take care of the repetitive, admin-heavy tasks and give me more time to focus on what actually drives value i.e building relationships and understanding the needs of our customers.
That said, I don’t think it can replace the human element. AI can give you insights, but it can’t read a room, build trust, or navigate complex conversations the way we can
So for me, it’s about using AI as a teammate, not the decision-maker. If we get that balance right, it makes us more productive without losing what makes us effective in the first place.
