Stacking Up The Tips for Workplace Wellbeing...
1. Get an office pet.
2. Ensure free-flowing access to fresh hot coffee throughout the day.
3. Fill in spreadsheets from under your bed-sheets.
Those are our (albeit personal) top tips for improving Workplace Wellbeing according to the team here at Stacked.

According to our CEO, however, these things are neither well substantiated or anything to do with effectively marketing our company and what we offer here at Stacked, so it’s back to the drawing board for coming up with a blog that gives you something both interesting and enjoyable to read as you get to grips with all things Workplace Wellbeing related in your organisation.
For many businesses, the concept of Workplace Wellbeing is a tick-box statement, a lip-service ‘value’, or a platitude or two thrown into job advertisements and social media posts to convince new and existing employees that they’re not just going to be paid in this job – they’re going to be boosted with ‘benefits’ in the process, too.
Admittedly, we think most employees would just settle for being paid a bit more fairly and recognised for their hard work, but when we look at what Workplace Wellbeing actually means, we really need to look more logically (and sustainably) than perhaps many businesses choose to do.
Let’s look at some common examples that you’ll see strewn across social media posts as employers try to hide their gender pay gaps and modern slavery practices (okay that might be a bit of a sweeping statement) behind cool and funky workplace ‘benefits’ that their employees can take advantage of once they’ve done the job of three people.
A ping pong table in the common area is great for a bit of morale at breaktime, but then so is having a tailored suite of business automation apps and processes in place to ensure that there’s none of that relentless ‘back and forth’ between your people. Let them get on with their actual jobs, using their key areas of expertise, and not worry about any of the techy or time-consuming admin that takes them away from their true talent and the job you actually pay them to do.
Motivational sayings stenciled onto the walls as you enter the office are very Steven Bartlett, but he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, so why not fill that white space on the walls with digital signage that brings your office to life with movement, sound and colour instead ? From team goals for the week to Employee of the Month, and from showcased successful projects to announcements of the next big incentive for your workers, don’t just give your workers an empty promise. Give them a sign that you want great things for them. Literally.
Bean bag chairs in the conference room are all well and good for a bit of cuddly huddling over those quarterly KPIS, but what’s even better are ergonomic chairs (and keyboards) that see staff sitting and working both comfortably and safely at their desks for every call they make, every report they write, and every piece of admin they, well administrate. Get a colleague with a bad back, neck or shoulder thanks to physical stresses and poor posture from working at a desk all day, and you’ll either get zero work done because they’re hovering under a headache at home, or find that every report that lands in your in-tray will be soaked with the traumatic tears of their tension. Not a good look, we’re sure you’ll agree.
Of course if you’re already taking Workplace Wellbeing seriously in your organisation (look at you, Boss of the Year), then that’s brilliant, but there are still other things that we can help you with here at Stacked. Happy and well rested employees feel valued and know the importance of their input into the role they provide within the team. Show them you care with personalised stationery, spoil them with a hardware update to the kit or computer they’ve been working on since they returned from Maternity Leave four children ago, or perhaps even just let them tell you what they need to do their job well.
At the end of the day, a job done badly doesn’t just reflect on your employees. It reflects on you and your bottom line.
There’s a saying that states if you take care of the pennies (cents?), the pounds (euros?) will take care of themselves. At Stacked, we say that if you take care of your employees… well, the euros will take care of themselves.

DISCLAIMER – seeing as our prospective and existing customers are always welcome here at Stacked for a brew, a biscuit, and a bit of business banter, you’ll see (photos attached) that we actually DO have things like gaming tables, beanie chairs, and motivational word walls dotted around the place. These are lovely things to have, and nobody would ever doubt that they bring a lot of joy to the average workday (thanks, boss). However, this blog is about pointing out that if these are the only ways you’re promoting and ticking the Workplace Wellbeing box in your office, then you’re coming up two cues short of a pool table when it comes to truly looking after your workforce. With that in mind, I can confirm that no employees of Stacked were harmed in the writing of this blog. We love working here, and we know you’ll love being our customers, too. 🤍
